Hosting the 10th annual WASH Gala!

Hi Fam!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of hosting the WASH Gala here in New York City! The organization behind the gala is called FACE Africa and what they have done over the past few years in Africa is nothing short of amazing.

Spearheaded by their fearless leader Saran Kaba Jones - they are tackling the water crisis head on by funding, supporting and advocating for community hence the term WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) By the way did I mention they are doing all this admirable work all across Sub-Saharan Africa?

Amazing right?

Because I was hosting the tenth annual gala, I looked to the Queen of Wakanda for inspiration..

My friend Tim did my makeup for the gala! We drew inspiration from Queen Mother Angela Bassett for the occasion and I think we came pretty close! Soft smoky eye, a pink ombre lip and a chiseled and contoured face! The cheekbones had to push througggghhhh!

I have to admit that I actually was NOT nervous to host the gala. Maybe because I knew we were all congregated together to raise money for such a great cause or maybe it's because the inspirational speeches and energy in the room my motto was simple....I just had fun onstage as the host!

Because I was hosting I knew I had to go ultra glam! I am so thrilled that this Jane Michael Ekanem gown arrived in time and fit the bill perfectly!

I had a ball! What a wonderful night! To find out more about the WASH Gala and FACE Africa click here
