Hysterics aside, I was honestly honored to be called to host the coveted carpet at the 2018 BET Awards! It's a huge responsibility but I love the excitement and spontaneity of the red carpet, so in the words of Tiffany Haddish #sheready
Additionally, BET International was celebrating their 10 year anniversary so it was definitely a milestone moment to celebrate.
I chopped it up with a few of our fave celebrities - like our gorgeous gal pal Gracelle Beauvais! She's so nice and not to mention absolutely beautiful!
South Africa's own Cassper Nyovest was one of the Best International Act nominees and I gotta tell you - he deserves all the good things coming his way. He's so down to earth!
And shout out to Davido! The Nigerian singer won the award for Best International Act. His music was EVERYWHERE this year so this win was totally deserved! By the way, did you know that this was the first year the BET Awards announced the Best International Act onstage at the award ceremony?
While I was talking to Davido, NBA superstar Victor Oladipo crashed our interview...well not really crashed..he saw Davido and stepped up to the podium and I invited him to stay. So Victor was more than welcome. Love to see our African peeps killing the game!
I also chopped it up with other celebs such as actress Storm Reid, singer Miguel and rapper T.I and a slew of other stars! All in all it was a great day!
It was super hot day in Los Angeles but we still soldiered on.
What an inspiring night, cheers to celebrating black excellence!
