You Know You Come From An African Family If.... .

Even though it can seem like we are so vastly different, the truth is there are so many ties that bind us as African people. Regardless of where you are from in the continent, I am sure you can relate to this list. 

This how you know you come from an African family... 

• You always have cousins/aunts/uncles staying with your family at random times

• If you are above the age of 25 and can still CATCH it from your Mama

• You go to the rural areas during the holidays

• When you say “I love you” to your parents and they say thank you or they don't know what to say

• There are certain meals that just don't taste good unless you eat them your hands

• Babies being carried on their mama's back is NBD (no big deal)

• You have that one Uncle that either drinks too much or is a little creepy or a combination of both

• Every adult older than you is Auntie or Uncle

• The subject of sex means male and female in your household. The birds and bees are never discussed but yet there babies popping up left, right and center

• When you get married and you don't know half the people at your wedding. "You get an invite, you get invite, everyone get's an invite.."
