Stripped: Lance Amstrong's 7 Tour de France titles to be revoked

A man can only take so much.

After decades of allegations of dodging allegations of drug use, Lance Armstrong has decided to throw in the towel. According to the Huffington Post the Anti-Doping Agency chief executive Travis Tygart says the agency will ban Lance Armstrong from cycling for life and strip him of his seven Tour de France titles for doping. Armstrong on Thursday night dropped any further challenges to USADA's allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs to win cycling's premier event from 1999-2005.

In a statement on his site, Lance wrote:
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a two-year federal criminal investigation followed by Travis Tygart's unconstitutional witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense.

WOW! Should Lance have kept on fighting? Or did he do the right thing by giving up the fight?

  1. The role-call for USA sport personalities angers one. For some of them I am convinced, they had the talent to do it without all these drugs.... especially Marion Jones....
