3 Reasons I Probably Won’t be Voting for Mitt Romney

The Obama Election campaign train  kicked off on Saturday in the tightly contested state of Ohio. The race for Presidency is awfully close with in Ohio with 44 percent favoring Obama and  42 percent standing behind Romney. Seeing those numbers it’s no surprise that the President and the First Lady picked Ohio as the first leg of their campaign trail.

At this point I think it’s clear that Mitt Romney is the presumptive GOP nomination for President. I have closely followed the race and I knew going in who I would cast my vote for. I'm absolutely moving forward with Obama. With all the support that Mitt is getting, I have to ask what people are voting for? So with that in mind,  I present to you the top 3 things I probably wont be voting for Mitt Romney!

1) Immigration:
"As a candidate, to my understanding, he's still deciding what his position on immigration is," said Bettina Inclan, the RNC's director of Hispanic outreach.

Mitt is in a little bit of a pickle with this. A recent Fox News poll showed that Hispanic voters prefer President Obama to a GOP candidate six-to-one. And this coming from Fox News, you know how they love the Republicans! Mitt’s standing with Latino voters is shaky at best. With Obama nipping at his heels he has to make a decision that not only appeases Latino voters but the Republican conservatives as well. During the GOP primary he iced out a lot Hispanics by embracing Arizona’s short sighted immigration crackdown and vetoed on a bill that would have created an easier  path of legalization for immigrants. As an immigrant this an issue that is near and dear to my heart. I remember being especially outraged when a few months back Mitt asked for some immigrants to self deport? Who is voting for this man?

2) War on Women:
“I would love the Supreme Court to say, ‘Let’s send this back to the states,’. Rather than having a federal mandate through Roe v. Wade, let the states again consider this issue state by state.”

The abortion issue is a very tricky one. But the fact that Mitt Romney wants to overturn the landmark Roe Vs. Wade case is nothing short of appalling. Do you know how many states would gleefully and wrongfully jump at the chance to take away a woman’s right on her body? We don’t have to agree on abortion but we can agree that women should have the choice to decide what’s best for her. As I stated yesterday in Jan Brewer post, my views on abortion and multi-layered, I don’t always agree with it. But I do believe in giving people choices. I stand firm in that.

3)What About Your Friends?
“Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated,” Former Senator Rick Santorum
"I still believe that the Romney campaign said things that weren't true," – Newt Gringrich

A lukewarm endorsement from Rick Santorum to Mitt Romney arrived late last night to Santorum supporters via email.  In the 13th paragraph Rick halfway endorsed Mitt Romney by pretty much saying at least Romney is better than Obama. Er, come again? Adding insult to injury when Newt Gringrich dropped out of the race, Newt damned Romney with slight praise.  Even in defeat Newt reiterated in an interview that he thought Romney was a liar. If his own party is calling him a liar and halfway backing him, why on earth should I vote for Mitt Romney?
