Held at the Harare International Conference Centre last Friday the pageant only had fifteen contestants in total but it seemed like a well put together show. Based on the pics I saw online, everything was on point - hair, makeup, production - kudos to the organizers.
Ashley's Facebook page states that she is studying Marketing at the National University of Science and Technology.
I love LOVE her gown, so stylish and it totally made her stand out. As part of her prize package she wins a trip to New York, $20,000, a car and tons of other goodies. As for the other contestants competing in the pageant? They also won $1,000 plus a year's worth of college tuition.
Miss Tourism Zimbabwe spoke to reporters after the pageant and had this to say about her future plans. "I'm using Miss Tourism Zimbabwe to protect, enhance and put a dream in every girl child." During her year long reign the beauty queen's focus will be on providing the less fortunate female students in Zimbabwe with sanitary pads.
