The fashion industry has such a long way to go when it comes to diversity. This is why I love it when a fresh face comes in and steals the spotlight by just being themselves - naturally. Enter Lineisy Montero!

Even though she's been on the scene for just one year only -  in that short amount of time she's become one of the most on demands models having worked with top photographers like Steven Meisel and Paolo Roversi.

I love her Afro! In an interview with I.D Magazine she spoke about how she's helped to shape the industry's view of black female beauty

"I didn't expect this impact, I am just Lineisy Montero, a young girl from Santo Domingo. My hair has never been a question, it's always been natural. I didn't do anything special except walking in the shows. I see now that is a big thing for the fashion industry so I am of proud of it. If it changes the mentality in the business for models like me I would be very happy."

The 19-year-old from the Dominican Republic was discovered at an amusement park in her hometown of Santo Domingo, and this season she walked no fewer than 68 shows. WERQ! And she's been on the cover of countless magazines

In an interview with Teen Vogue she revealed how her grandmother stopped her from quitting modeling:

"My grandmother told me not to doubt myself. She quoted this Bible passage: 'I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.' If I hadn't listened to her, I wouldn't be where I am. So I just kept repeating it in my head. That, for me, was the turning point. After that I had no problem."
