First up is 'Half of a Yellow Sun' starring Thandie Newton! The film was premiered in Toronto and just a few hours ago the 40 year old actress announced that's she's pregnant!
'She couldn't be more happy,' a source told Us Weekly. 'You can barely tell she has a bump and she's been dressing different because of it.' Congrats Thandie! She's a mom of 2 already so I know she will be a great Mama!
Half of a Yellow Sun is based on a novel by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, follows four people as they navigate the struggles in pre-republic Nigeria.
The movie also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor
Anika Noni Rose
And Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji
I will def check the movie out when it comes out! I know folks were upset about Thandie playing an Igbo woman, I'm hearing she will silence her detractors in this role! Heard the half Zimbabwean actress killed it :)
In other news:
The Nelson Mandela movie "Long Walk To Freedom" is apparently so good that the flick got an 8 minute standing ovation at the premiere in Toronto! Wowzers!
Early reviews are in & it seems the movie maybe Idris's Oscar lucky charm. In fact 95 year old Nelson Mandela is reported to have seen extracts of the movie & asked: “Is that me?”
Can't wait to see it! You know how I feel about that other Mandela movie with J.Hud & Terrance Howard..Im excited to see a Mandela approved movie..
SA actress Terry Pheto plays Mr Mandela's first wife Evelyn & she was nothing but stunning on the red carpet in Toronto!
And Naomie Harris plays Winnie Mandela!
Thoughts on the movies & Thandie's baby news?
