India Arie's "brown skin" is a little lighter...

I'm catching up on all the stories and I missed while I was on vacation in Africa and this one is too big not to discuss. Singer India Arie is back with a new song but it seems folks are more interested in her appearance than the actual track. After she released the art work for her new song entitled "Cocoa Butter" the twitterverse went nuts over her excessive photo retouching with some people even accusing her of bleaching her skin. Never one to take an issue lying down Miss "Brown Skin" responded with the statement below:

Personally speaking! I’m happy to say I have NOT BLEACHED my skin. ROTF at the thought.

1. I wouldn’t endanger my health that way

2. I’m so in love with myself I have no DESIRE to BLEACH myself. Lol

3. The GLOW you see IS (magnificent) lighting

4. THE LIGHT you see, well that’s all ME!

Politically speaking racism/colorism in the black community is a MUUUUUUUCH large.#SongVersation #skinversaton THAT I’d LOVE to “shed light on”..that conversation IS REAL, …let’s keep talking.

Hmmm I have also been re-touched in modeling pictures so I get it. But this is just RIDIC! I don't think she's bleached her skin but that cover art should have never seen the light of day. Just my 2 cents..what do you think of this cover? Is this cause for alarm or much to do about nothing!?
