South African designer David Tlale was just one of three black designers to show at this season's Mercedes Benz New York fashion week. If I am not mistaken he was the only African one at the New York tents. I was on hand last Sunday to check out some of the David's stunning collection and all I have to say is WOW - just wow you guys. This particular collection left me speechless. It was beautiful, dazzling, refreshing, regal and simply just amazing. The theme was decadence, a celebration of ten years in fashion. Check out the pics below from the presentation!
The show was packed to capacity and the energy in the room was electric. It was truly David's moment!
While at the presentation, I spotted Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks. Speaking about David's collection she told the Grio "It's giving me glamour, richness. I can see myself in most of this. I love the gold. I love the beautiful fabrics. I love these hemlines. Very feminine, very curvaceous. You know I love to show off my donkey booty."
LOL Phaedra is a mess. Just in case you don't know what donkey booty is, it's her best selling fitness video.
