DsTV rolls out VH1 Classic in Africa

Good news music lovers,  VH1 Classic  launched yesterday (Nov. 13) in Africa on DsTV channel 323.  The channel will be available in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Sweet!

VH1 Classic delivers non-stop music videos all day long, providing access to the most iconic contemporary artists of our time and spotlighting superstar performers such as Abba, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, George Michael, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, Queen, Whitney Houston and U2.

I certainly hope they throw in some African music in the mix as well. I'm totally here for American music but Africa also has a vast and rich array of music, frankly there is no reason the two genres shouldn't play nice in the sandbox. I'm talking Fela Kuti, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Miriam Makeba, Kanda Bongo Man...that type of thing! Right guys?

Peeps in Africa will you be tuning?

  2. Where do we see new and current music. With vh1 gone there is nowhere to see new music. This sucks.
