Rihanna says" women cannot stand to see another woman do better?" Do you agree?

This past weekend I did a Global Grind red carpet gig at the GLAAD Awards in NYC and not to toot my own horn (but toot toot) I looked hot! But don't get me wrong, I can't take credit for my glam transformation, my  fairy godmother Marshana (and also good friend) sprinkled fairy dust all over me and had my makeup, hair, and even my dress looking like a million bucks!! Ladies can you imagine? One woman helping another woman look fabulous and doing so with no shade at all? Unbelievable!!

Pop star Rihanna was on a UK television show and she shared her truth about how women compete with one another. "It will always be a competition [Women are] very competitive beings and we cannot stand to see another woman do better than us, you know, that bothers us a lot. As much as you guys have egos, our egos are a little bigger. We're just a lot better at hiding them”

These words here: “we cannot stand to see another woman do better than us” bothered me to my core. I disagree with Rih-Rih, I am NOT “bothered” when I see another woman doing well, I love to see women flourish and do great things. When I meet a woman who is doing IT (in whatever field) I immediately want to gravitate towards her and want to soak up some of that positive energy. I have never understood the jealousy and immaturity behind not wanting another woman to succeed. To me it speaks to someone who has low self esteem and cannot validate their self worth unless they are on top. Utter ridiculousness!

I have known a young lady who on the surface seems to have it all. Beautiful, smart, outgoing she seems to the perfect package. Underneath it all however she has a mean competitive streak. Her mission is to be the only alpha female in the room. She’s even competitive in all areas ranging from physical looks, life, work even relationships. Now sisters, that is just sad. There is nothing wrong with a little healthy competition but if you find yourself constantly sizing up other women including your friends- you may need to run and don't walk to see a mental health counselor.

So talk to me-do you compete with your girlfriends?
