Movie uncovers South Africa's underground youth culture

This is the Africa that they never show you. Check out this clip from a new documentary Stocktown X: South Africa.  I applaud the directors for making a film that stays away from media stereotypes and reveals a new thriving underground culture.

The film premiered last week as the CinemAfrica film festival last week in Sweden and the directors hopefully will encourage young people outside Africa to look in on the continent’s growing pool of creative talent.

  1. OMG!!! I'm sooo excited that they finally did a film about that! You only have to be around Braamfontein, Joburg for a bout a day to realise how cool and vibrant youth culture is in S.A. The Maftown/smarties thing especially grabbed my attention, especially when I found out its been around for years and years!

    Cant wait to see it!
