Oprah & Iyanla Vanzant duke it out on the Oprah show

Did you guys check out the Oprah show today? Can I say that I respect Oprah EVEN more after today's interview. She kept it so real with Iyanla and even said on the show's promo " we both forgot the cameras were on"

Now if you remember Iyanla was a relationship expert and appeared as a regular on the Oprah show in the late 90's. She was in the same ranks as Dr. Phil, Suze Orman, Dr.Oz..seemingly on the path to being one of Oprah's proteges.

So where did things go wrong?

Iyanla claims it was a communication breakdown between her and Auntie Oprah. Really if you ask me, Iyanla wanted her own show and she wanted it NOW from Oprah. O said she didn't believe Iyanla was ready herself yet to have her own program. See at the time Iyanla was being courted by none other than Barbara Walters to have her own show.

Iyanla at the time even claimed in a meeting with Oprah that she thought she had a message from God that now was the "anointed time" not the "appointed time" for her to start out on her own. Let me translate: Iyanla was using the Barbara Walters angle as leverage to force Oprah to give her a show.

As time would prove, Iyanla failed to make an impression on the public and the show tanked and was eventually canceled. What is the lesson here? Dont get on Oprah's bad side!

Oprah said on the show "I took four years with Phil and eight years with Oz because they weren't ready, I did it out of respect and honor for you,"

Oprah Winfrey ended Wednesday's face-off by telling Iyanla Vanzant, "I heard you. All is forgiven." Did you watch? Tell me what you thought about the show.
