On a recent episode of Toddlers & Tiaras, a pageant mother forces her wailing and trembling five-year-old daughter to get her eyebrows waxed, even though the little girl was clearly traumatized from once having her skin ripped off during the beauty procedure
Is this child abuse? Or is this pageant Mom simply helping her daughter in her quest for the crown? Let me know your thoughts..
This show always makes me cringe at how the moms are so hard on their little ones. Also, I dont know if its a coincidence but the mothers I have seen tend to be overweight/nerdy and I always get the feeling that they are living vicariously through their kids and not letting their children explore their own talents and hobbies independently! Makes for some great television though! lol. Great Blog!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. I can't get with the kiddie pageants. But I will say that at least the parents (regardless of motive) are enrolling their kids in something that can help them out in the long run. Thanks for stopping by!
